498A

Are you guys out there about to marry, aware of the 498A section of the IPC, where
the girl has to just walk to the police station and without any problem lodge a dowry
complaint against her inlaws and husband, claiming mental torture and harrassment.


The next minute you know your entire family is rounded up and hurled with handcuffs
into the police van and jailed.

Girls you dont laugh, you have brothers and guy
relatives too, it could happen to them.

Lets discuss on this stupid and moronic
law which has been tormenting 10's of 1000's of people like me who have not done
anything and are still stuck.

Empathizes to Sunny for having gone thro this mess and Suman this is for real this
has been happening. Girls for the sole motive of Money or the best reason known to
them have been misusing the LAW in their stride and harassing. This section(498A)
though introduced for the benefit of the Women being tortured and harassed for dowry
can visit any Police station either at her In-laws place or at her Parental place and
can lodge this complaint - this is as simple as ordering a Pizza!
Let’s consider
this section proves to be beneficial for 90 % of the Female population and rest 10%
misuse this section. However the need of the hour is to amend the law which also
takes effective steps to save the Lives and families of that 10% innocent people. As
it’s better to let the culprits scot-free then the INNOCENT getting PUNISHED.

THE LAW SURELY NEEDS AMENDMENTS…

hi .......god the word dowry is such a menace ...but it exists ..becoz we dont do
anything against it ......but me ...i hv decided my kids ..they will marry who ever
they want ....and ...no dowry ...infct a wedding in the temple with close frnds n
relation and a gala reception if the kids want it ..........cheers to the next
generation ..the future looks bright !

True, this is one of the most abused legislations in Indian History. It is true that
without any proof you and your entire family will get arrested as even the Lower
Judiciary thinks that the statement made by the girl is the gospel truth. To rub
there is one more section in I.P.C. which is effectively/maliciously used by
unscruplous females. Out of 50 Bail applications in each of the lower courts in New
Delhi at least 30 relate to 498A/406. Despite the blatant abuse of this law, it is
really sad that judiciary can't see it. Even the higher judiciary has closed its
eyes. BEWARE MEN!!!!!!!!!!It can happen to you also. BEWARE WOMEN!!!!!! This law may
affect you also as sisters/mothers/or relatives of the bridegroom. So don't think
that it is only the men who are targets. It is sad that the law is heavily loaded
against men.

It is unfortunate that indian families are in breaking situation by 498a. NCW is not
taking interest to take out that Law, it feels it achieved great to help women,
inturn it supports to break the indian marriages and families and pushing them to non
integrative minds among all men & women of India. Thanks to Our Govt and the great
NCW who are liberally allowing this law to commit blunders knowingly to harass men
and women of India.

I feel very sad about 498A and Domestic violence Acts which were appeared to be
created to harass Indians. I am afraid there will be disurbance in the society due to
these acts. Country's integration is nothing but united familiy members of India,
but where as these two laws are undoubtedly seperating the unity of families.
Husbands and wives will be on the streets in near future and no body will be happy in
their families. Women Organisations- please think what you are doing is correct
and benifeted to society(combination of all citigens and children)?. For God sake
donot disintegrate the families of India. Do not interfere in husband and wife
problems, they themself will solve the problems with elders in society. When you are
in India be like an indian and follow the beatiful indian family culture(as per
relgion) and donot be so advanced to reach to ancient stage of clothless wearing life
of eve on the name woman liberalisation. I feel very sad how nasty photos are shown
in papers about women wearing minimum clothing(foreign ladies and some of indian
models), I surprise why that there is no woman or woman writer opposing this
degradation of women staus of our country. Instead further blind argument to
provide women economic liberalisation. This will lead a woman status to a
unrepairable face value. I feel it is very jiddy attitude of some women who donot
have any goal for the benifit of society. Please visit once to civil courts and
criminal courts and observe how many false cases are filed against their husbands and
in Laws and how these innocent women are feeling aloof in the society along with
small kids. women are being encouraged by these laws to file cases against their
husbands and thereafter, these organsations will not help them after ensuring the
friction created between husband and wife. Whhhaaat you will get out of it?. Please
look after your brothers, and elders by not encouraging these two harmful ACTS on the
name euality.

There are many families who are suffering due to the harassment by women misusing the
provisions of this law. I have seen families who live with constant worry and threat
just to avoid their social image. The marriage is by choice and is a foundation of
society, but getting out of marriage is such a woe and suffering, because of the laws
made by and for society. Why can't it be as simple as possible.
Can anybody name a
forum who are gathering the cases and representing to any agency like National
Commission for Women ?

Yes, the abuse of laws meant for safeguarding the women are resulting in extreme
hardships to not only women but even women. If this is not checked it will hit at the
fundamental institution of society - the family. Marriage - a custom meant to foster
a lifetime bondage - needs to be preserved, else there will be proliferation of
temporary relationships without wed lock (not even live-ins) leading to severe health
and progeny problems.

For centuries men and their families have tortured women .There was no judicial
system to ask them why they do so?.
The woman had to tolerate all
crimes...-> dowry harassment,sexual abuse by husband and inlaws,mental and physical
torture,attempt to murder,machine to give birth to innumeraable children etc.
Now
that women dont have to suffer many of these things are men feeling less manly than
their forefathers????or they are scared of woman power?
Its now that human Right
Awareness groups have made it possible to have such laws in existence.
U are
thinking of those 1% men who are suffering but what about those innumerable women who
have suffered all these years and are still suffering inspite of such laws being in
place.DO WE atleast CREATE ANY BLOGS FOR HELPING SUCH WOMEN??????
COMMMON MAN they
could be ur sisters too..And just look into ur own houses how ur fathers or
grandparents have torchered ur mom ,however great they may seem to u ,if u look into
ur mother's heart u will feel the pain of some sort of harrassment. (barring a few
exceptions when the case is other wy...u need to judge)

Women have been treated
mercilessly as slaves and they were never given any value.WHAT IS THEIR
MISTAKE?????that they are a woman?They have to get married forcibly inspite of being
aware of this and if not society will torcher them and other men will misuse them

Exceptions are there but they are exceptions not a norm
Atleast since this law has
come men will get scared A BIT.They need to get it into their psyche firmly that
women are not to be treated like this ,they deserve some respect...they are human
beings too and half population of the world
Those men who have behaved properly and
so have their families will rarely have to face such situations and if they havent
done GOD will save them if GOD was saving those innocent women all over our country
who are being torchered.Atleast some men will improve due to this law

Imagine if u
are going to stay at someone else's house leaving ur own and u are harrasses/ragged
in every possible way ...what will ur state be..????
Dont quit the thought in a
moment ...i know its difficuilt to imagine urself in that situation ,but do it
consciously for 30 min and tell then ,feel those burns on ur body and feel evry sort
of blackmailing and abuse.
Speak with those women who have suffered and then tell
about those handful innocent men...


The concept of"INNOCENT MAN " Is a most of
the times a new way of the chalu but devilish men who pretend to be gandhian infront
of the society and are hitler in their homes.!!
The moment they feel they cant
control the woman ,they get scared..I dont understand wher has the masculinity of the
great courageous indians gone that they need to feel like a man by controlling a
woman and that too they need the help of the entire family to do that ?

Why cant
indian men come out of their soo called concept of indian culture. which is an
absolutely wrong interpretention of our great but now extinct original indian culture
where women had lot of respect.Why cant the educated indian men stop behaving like
the uneducated???Why cant they learn to love and stop being apprehensive??

I know
i have hurt male egos of many readers .I come from family with well behaving men ,but
generally if u look around in 90% cases woman is the sufferer.
Guys we need to bring
humanity in our culture So initially some innocents will be victimised .
Best way is
think a lot ,inquire properly before marriage about the woman and her family...not
economic status rather the mentality .Meet her several times and her friends too .Get
an idea of her moods and think if she can really adjust in ur family and behave well
witrh her .Help family and her to gell well ...its ur responiblity
Give her the
liberty to tell abt her ex bfs and accept it,check if it can still have impact on ur
future and she may forget abt her ex if u give her love and assuarance .
Women
normally fall in love easily and so if u are good to her she will love u too and if
she loves she can tolerate but then to test her love dont do her harm as she may get
scared and complain to police!!

If its made it too difficuilt for women to
complain the law will be useless.Because as such very few women dare to come out and
complain abt inlaws and hubbys- these are mostly the educated and independant from
revengeful families who could take disadvantage but its not so easy to make a false
allegation.If the girl wants to remarry and its known that she has made a false
allegation , no one is gonna marry her .So what will she gain ??Just a
revenge...??Men will be scared to marry a girl even if they know that she has
suffered a lot but she had the strenth to fight ...and went to police to take revenge
r get justice they will prefer to not marry her as finally they are indian men...!!

There may be
exceptions when she has a bf.....!!!!

Its not easy for a woman to stay alone and
only in big metros we find single women staying peacefully(??).When a law is made the
entire population of the country is taken into consideration not the handful .We cant
have a seperate education system for the very intelligent or dumb and we cant make
seperate laws for everyone..but still the court takes into consideration the social
background and mentality and religion and what are the norms in those type of people
before they reach a conclusion .

And hey dont beleive all men who say that their
wife has made false allegations of dowry as its nearly impossible to find a man who
accepts that he has done so...!!

Till the time our culture gives better status to women such
laws should be in place ,let the handful of men suffer so that others are forced to
change sick behaviour.For the men who are behaving with humanity with their wifes and
ensuring that their parents do it too ,lets wish that their wifes dont trap them into
such things and lets hope that some sort of psychiatric methods come in place to do
LIE DETECTION!!!
